Jenkintown, PA (December 17, 2013) — Managing Editor Inc.™ (MEI), an Adobe premier partner and a leading provider of software solutions for digital publishing, hosted its Pro Pub Summit 2013 on Thursday, December 12, in Philadelphia. The summit featured presentations from MEI technology partners, vjoon and Adobe, as well customer success stories from top publishers in the industry.
“One of the great values of Portico is its ability to prominently feature app content as well as advertisements within our own branded experience,” said Meghan Milkowski, corporate production director at Prometheus Global Media. “New content keeps our user engagement high, and app re-entry is a key driver for our advertiser interest. We are pleased to have these updated Portico capabilities in place as we explore our expansion into advertising endeavors with help from MEI.”
vjoon CEO and founder Andreas Schrader shared the progress of the vjoon K4® publishing platform, along with new features included in the latest release. MEI’s Director of Product Management, Brett Kizner, demonstrated how to add efficiencies to production workflows using K4 and MEI Toolbox. Kizner also discussed the updates and advantages of MEI’s custom app storefront solution, MEI Portico™, and provided a first glimpse into the recently announced addition of HipZone’s Integrated Media Planner (IMP) to MEI’s solution suite. As an added bonus, Adobe’s Business Development Director Mike Zahorik presented the current state of the tablet marketplace and the latest improvements to their products, including the Adobe® Digital Publishing Suite™ (DPS) and Creative Cloud.
The summit featured several MEI customer success stories presented by industry-leading professionals from Condé Nast International, Prometheus Global Media, Euromoney Institutional Investor and TVA Publications. Each presentation focused on MEI solutions that were instrumental in improving their unique publishing workflow environments. Attendees had the exclusive opportunity to hear from fellow K4 and Adobe users regarding specialized configurations, best practices and expertise on how to get the most value out of their publishing systems.
“As in years prior, the Pro Pub Summit is a forum reserved for our valued customers to discuss the evolving landscape of digital publishing,” said Dennis McGuire, CEO and founder of MEI. “At MEI, we’re passionate about facilitating conversations between our clients and partners. This year’s Pro Pub Summit successfully carried on the tradition of sharing leading publishing platform knowledge with some of the top innovators from across the globe.”
